Mincemeat Cookies For Autumn

Now that we live out in the boondocks, we really have to use our gas wisely. So instead of frequent trips to the store, we have to plan better. So instead of running to the store when we get the munchies  I've been making my own cookies.

Last year I discovered mincemeat at Winco. It's seasonal, so I was sad that I couldn't get any more. Now they have it again! So I got 2 cups of it and made mincemeat cookies. I thought there would be a mincemeat cookie recipe on their site but there wasn't. So I got a recipe on line, and they are so delicious. They aren't even half gone and my boyfriend is already saying I should make more. Mincemeat cookie recipe.

I also got chocolate chips, but he wants me to make chocolate chip raisin cookies. I'm not so sure about that but I'll give it a try.

And I want to make an apple pie, since our neighbor gave us a ton of apples.

This heart shaped mincemeat cookie was a bit of serendipity.

Fresh out of the oven.

Mincemeat cookies make good holiday gifts.

Is it mean to show yummy virtual mincemeat cookies if you can't eat them?

Apple pie coming soon.

Sugar Cookies

I found four cookie cutters in a never opened package at the thrift store. The bear design was really cute.  There was a bear, a snowman, a tree, and a bell.

I tried a new recipe for sugar cookies and found out my boyfriend doesn't like frosting on his. So I just used colored sugar I made in a baggie. Evidently I don't like sugar cookies without frosting, but they are lovely to look at.

Peach Cobbler Hot Out of the Oven

This is for a lunch with friends tomorrow, so I shall have to resist temptation.
This is the first time I tried making it in this pie plate a friend gave to us. My boyfriend said, "Are you sure that's ovenproof?" I said, "It's been in a kiln, I'm sure it will be fine." I think it looks and smells divine. I got the recipe off of http://www.cooks.com.

Peach Cobbler and Cherry Cobbler

Today I made peach cobbler and cherry cobbler to take to the archery gathering tomorrow. But we couldn't resist trying it. I was being really good about leaving it alone but after my boyfriend cut it I couldn't resist any longer. And it was delicious. I only had a tiny bit of each though, with a bit of French Vanilla ice cream. Be very jealous.
